Thanksgiving Dinner Menu + Planning Guide
(for 8 people or customize in the Prepear app for your specific needs)


Let me help take the stress out of Thanksgiving for you! Use my easy to follow planning guide and delicious recipes to make this year a breeze. And the best part? Everything is healthy, gluten-free and dairy-free...but nobody else will be able to tell!

Guide
 
One week ahead:
  1. Follow the prepared-for-you Thanksgiving menu or finalize your own menu and gather the recipes you will need. Decide who is cooking and bringing specific dishes between your family and your guests.
  2. Take stock of your equipment/cooking/serving dishes and utensils: roasting pan, kitchen thermometer, pie pan, serving dishes, foil, Tupperware, decorations, etc. Add whatever you need to your list.
  3. Buy or order all of your groceries to avoid the last minute craziness of the grocery stores and make sure you have everything you need.
  4. Start thawing your turkey according to the size. Thaw breast side up in an unopened wrapper on a tray in the fridge at least 1 day of thawing for every 4 lbs.
 
1-2 days ahead:
  1. Clear out your fridge and chill your drinks.
  2. Assemble appetizers, or anything you will serve cold/room temperature or that can be reheated easily (Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie Bars, Cranberry Sauce and Mashed Potatoes).
 
Thanksgiving Day: (Planning for dinner at 5pm)
  1. Remove turkey from the fridge and let come to room temperature.
  2.  Prepare the turkey and cook for 3-4 hours (make sure to check every so often to make sure it doesn’t dry out or burn).
  3. Prepare the Apple Cider Sangria and refrigerate.
2pm. Prepare and serve the Snack Plate and Apple Cider Sangria.
  1.  Prepare the Stuffing and Green Beans.
  2.   Remove turkey from the oven if it is done (if you haven’t removed it already) and change the temperature to 375F.
  3. Add the Green Beans and Stuffing to the oven.
  4. Use the drippings from the turkey and start making the Gravy.
4:30pm. Check on Green Beans and Stuffing and broil for 1-2 minutes if needed to brown the veggies and bread a little bit. Remove from oven.
4:30pm. Reheat Mashed Potatoes and add more liquid if necessary.
4:30pm. Remove Cranberry Sauce from the fridge and let come to room temperature.
5:00pm. Take out the Pumpkin Pie and Pecan Pie Bars from the fridge and let come to room temperature.
5:00pm. Serve and enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner!

    Allergies

    I believe everyone should eat balanced and not cut food groups if you don't medically need to. All foods can fit in a healthy diet. Unfortunately, I have to avoid gluten and also limit myself with dairy, so my goal is to provide healthy, gluten-free/dairy-free recipes so EVERYONE can enjoy all foods, even if you do have to cut out certain food groups. My recipes are encouraged for everyone to eat, not just for those with sensitivities/allergies! Most of my recipes can be easily converted by using real dairy and whole-wheat in place of my allergy-free substitutes.
