Preservation Park is a 200 acre park in Thompson's Station, TN. It was formerly a grazing pasture and was once part of the Battle of Thompson's Station. The majority of the park is in it's natural state and has amazing views! There are over 3.6 miles of trails with over 436 ft elevation gain. The AllTrails app has a 3.4 mile trail plotted out for you to easily follow if you prefer having navigation so you don't get lost. To access the trails you will park at 1600 Thompson's Station Rd West, Thompson's Station, TN 37179 in the parking lot (next to the horses) right off the side of the road. If the parking lot is full you could potentially park at Sarah Benson Park and walk the 1/2 mile to get there. Speaking of, you could very easily add on more trail mileage by running/walking around Sarah Benson Park and Alexander Trail/Stephen's Way Trail in Heritage Park. The entrance to Preservation Park takes you by a map, across an open field and past the bathrooms before you really start getting into the trails. The elevation gain can definitely be a bit challenging, yet fun since it adds to the uniqueness of the trails, plus you are able to access magnificent views because of it! Most of the trails are through wide open fields with some through skinny trails in the wooded areas. You can choose any of the trails to make your hike/run as short or long as you like and there are signs along the way to let you know which trail you are on. This is a popular park to visit but since it's so expansive, everyone is spread out and not crowded (except for the parking lot). Bring your family but make sure if you have a stroller you bring an off-roading one! Dogs are allowed but must be on leashes. At the back of the park there is a paved path that takes you through a tunnel to the Nutro Dog Park and Community Gardens which can be fun to explore as well! About a mile in on the Railroad trail are picnic tables which makes for a nice break! This is definitely a rural escape and is a wonderful place to explore! About MeI am a food loving, activity seeking health coach who resides in Franklin, TN with my husband and two sweet dogs (Lola & Penny). AllergiesI believe everyone should eat balanced and not cut food groups if you don't medically need to. All foods can fit in a healthy diet. Unfortunately, I have to avoid gluten and also limit myself with dairy, so my goal is to provide healthy, gluten-free/dairy-free recipes so EVERYONE can enjoy all foods, even if you do have to cut out certain food groups. My recipes are encouraged for everyone to eat, not just for those with sensitivities/allergies! Most of my recipes can be easily converted by using real dairy and whole-wheat in place of my allergy-free substitutes. SearchLooking for something specific?
